Responding to Climate Change in the Hampton Court Gardens

A big thank-you to Molesey library and Head Gardener Graham Dilamore for this inspiring and informative talk about the steps being taken at Hampton Court Gardens to manage the effects of climate change on the current plants and what changes are planned to promote the sustainability of the garden for the future.

The move away from annual bedding to perennial plants will see a big reduction in greenhouse heating costs, fertiliser use and need for watering.

I have already built a dead hedge in my garden as a result - this will allow at-home composting of tougher materials as well as providing a habitat for insects, birds and possibly hedgehogs.
