Make-Do and Mend
The Walton-on-Thames Repair Cafe were joined at their July Cafe by Susie Batchelor from Elmbridge Museum, who was keen to see what they are doing in respect of repairing and mending.
She is currently leading the museum’s ‘Make do and Mend’ project, and will be running a ‘creative heritage‘ session as part of the September 13th Cafe, at Walton Centre for the Community in Manor Road, Walton.
The project references WW2, when resources were scarce, and looks to engage the public in the skills people used to make the best of what they had. These skills are invaluable today to save resources, and in turn, save our planet.
